Bored, worn out, or running on fumes? Burnout comes in three flavors, and chances are you’ve sampled more than one.
Meet Julia Collins: serial entrepreneur, co-founder of Zume Pizza (yes, robots made the pizzas), and the first Black woman to co-found a unicorn company when Zume hit a $1 billion valuation. From there, she built a carbon-footprint software for food brands, launched a climate-friendly cracker company, and is now building a nonprofit called Planet Haus. Over 15 years and over $500 million in venture capital raised, Julia has mastered the go hard, reinvent, repeat cycle.
So we sat down to ask her how she keeps building without breaking. In this episode, Tara and Julia break down the three types of burnout (underchallenged, worn-out, and frenetic). As you watch, let us know: which burnout type do you experience most often?
We also get into challenges founders face, like knowing when to recharge vs. release, and what sustainability actually looks like day to day when what’s good for you and what’s good for the planet don’t always align.
